Allison Reynolds...
Allison, also known as the “Bucket Case” in The Breakfast Club was portrayed to be a bit of a weird human being at the start, she seemed to be a socially awkward teenager and is the most isolated from the others. Although she was quiet, once she started talking, she wasn’t able to stop. Through her speech and dialogue, the viewers find out that she really is just as weird as they suspected. However, the audience also discover the reason for her actions when she gradually opens up to the other students and allowed them view her thoughts. She admitted that her parents ignore her and that she finds her “home life unsatisfying”, to the extent that she would rather come to detention, even though she didn’t do anything wrong. At first, Allison gives off the impression that she likes to fade into the back ground and become invisible as she never spoke and seemed to be hiding from the others but as she got more comfortable with the other students, she started making up stories about how she’s an nymphomaniac. The audience then finds out that she is capable of manipulating social situations and she wasn’t as socially awkward as they thought.

By the end of the film, the viewers observe that Allison changes physically which symbolises the fact that no one should ever judge from the outside. The viewers realises that she wasn’t as shy as she was portrayed to be at the start, but that she actually craved attention and stirred up drama because her parents don’t appreciate her existence. This shows the audience that she’s just a normal teenager, going through the same thing as everyone else, perhaps she’s different and her actions may seem peculiar to others, but in the end she is just a unique being and when the other students finally understood her, they offered her a way out of her isolation to become a better person.
